Single Ended El-84

This little single ended EL-84 amp was built by a gentleman named Eric in Oregon. I am the third owner of this modest but great sounding amp. EL-84 is a great tube, and in single ended circuits it has a really wonderful tone, with bite and snap and a ton of drive.

This amp is very simple, uses a single 12AX7 input tube and a 5U4 rectifier. It even has a volume control, so no preamp is needed. With the input jacks in the front, there is a very short signal path.

This amp has a very powerful 3 or so watts per channel and performs way above its expected output, with a wide and deep sound stage. For some reason, classical guitar is one of this amps real strengths; the strings and tone of the guitar body are very true to life. One of my favorites and a best buy for me at only $150 with tubes.
