Norelco AD4277

The Norelco AD 4277 drivers are a revelation. Made in the late 1950’s in Holland, these are premier full range drivers in the mold of the famous Philips dual cones. The Norelco sported Ticonal magnets rather than the more common Alnico, featured very light and stiff dual cones, and have quite high efficiency, making them a good choice for the flea power amps.

These drivers sound very impressive! They have a drive and pace that is just outstanding and its very hard to believe they are antiques. They also work very well in open panels. My only complaint is that these tend to be quite treble heavy. I’ve read of people adding tweeters to drivers like this, but I can’t imagine it! Ultimately they proved too fatiguing in my room.
