HiFiMeDIY Sabre Tiny USB DAC

I love bargains and here is a truly great example, a wonderful sounding DAC based on the highly regarded Sabre chip and output stage, all in a super compact package with a USB interface. The HiFiMe DIY Tiny Sabre DAC has been in service in my living room system for several years now, connected to a Mac Mini and playing Apple Lossless files and streaming Spotify. The sound performance is very good indeed, and nearly on par with the much more expensive and upgraded Eastern Electric Minimax. In fact, after direct comparison, I found the difference in my living room to be far less than expected. For the small price tag (currently $80 on Amazon), this little DAC simply can’t be beat!
