Single Ended 6K6 Amplifier

Here is an interesting amplifier based on the 6K6, a tube similar to a 6V6. The amp is a single ended design with switchable triode or ultrlinear. It has a volume control and 3 switchable inputs. I believe this was built in the early 2000s by Time Audio in Australia.

The 6K6 is a nice sounding, cheap, and readily available tube. It was used in some early car radios along with a number of other applications. Its not well known in the hifi world, but somewhat more known in guitar amplifiers. It looks and sounds very similar to the 6V6. I’ve used the tube in this amplifier as well as the awesome Mini Torii from Decware.
